The Pioneer Essay Contest
has been held annually since 1958 and is open to anyone writing
on subjects of Santa Clara County history.
Some of the best essays
are published in the Pioneer Papers and all winning essays are
maintained on file in the California Room of the Martin Luther
King/San Jose State Library in San Jose.
