Rosie the Riveter National Park and Red Oak Victory Ship
A trip is planned
to visit the Rosie the Riveter Museum and Historical National
Park in Richmond for a guided tour to remember the mobilization
efforts during World War II and the role of women on the home
front. Next we will board the Red Oak Victory Ship for the included
luncheon and tour. Lastly, a stop at the Richmond Museum of History.
Featured is the art work of children of war workers at the day
care center from 60 years ago.

NOVEMBER 12, 2007 MONDAY
Our fellow organization, Argonauts Historical Society, invites
Pioneers and guests to participate in their "Carquinez Straits
Small Towns." The tour demonstrates the importance of the
ferries across the Straits before construction of the bridges.
Towns visited are: Martinez, Benicia, Crocket and Port Costa.
Pioneers and guests may register after September 30. For information

"This Wonderful Life" at San Jose Repertory
3:00 pm performance
1:00 pm Lunch at Hawgs Restaurant
For the holiday
season, San Jose Repertory Theater is presenting This Wonderful
Life,"a stage adaptation of the classic movie It's a Wonderful
Life. Free parking on Saturday is available at nearby garages.
For this event a member and one guest - perhaps a grandchild?
