About Us

The California Pioneers of Santa Clara County was established in 1875. It is one of the oldest pioneer societies in California. After 150 years, our members and volunteers are proud to continue the tradition of promoting, preserving, and celebrating the history of Santa Clara County.

Quarterly Luncheon

Our Mission

To promote, preserve and celebrate the history of Santa Clara County and the heritage of its past generations. We collect, archive, educate and encourage research and scholarship.

Our Projects

  • Maintaining and conducting tours of the Paulson House Museum at History San Jose and the Roberto Adobe and Suñol House on Lincoln Ave.
  • Preserving our artifacts, ephemera, photographs, film, art and furnishings.
  • Protecting and caring for our historic Hacienda Cemetery (which is on the National Register of Historic Landmarks).
  • Utilizing modern technology for educational outreach, including the Pioneers Film Archive, Historic Essay Contest and Mary Lou Lyon Research Library.
